Weekend Review

It was a completely relaxed weekend. The only thing I'd actually consider work is driving to the other side of town. I really dislike driving on the east side.

Friday night we headed over to my in-law's house to visit with Aunt B, my mother-in-law's sister. She awesome. She's sassy. She doesn't care what you think about her. She won't let anyone take a picture of her so I have nothing to show from any of our time with her.

Saturday was tent day. I promised Gibbie that we would have a tent night Friday night and watch The Wizard of Oz and paint our nails green. Then The Hubs didn't go to class and we went visiting. She was heartbroken. To make up for it I let her keep the tent up all day and the pajamas on until we had to head out.

She absolutely loved The Wizard of Oz. We watched it four times.

After The Wizard of Oz we went to McDonald's in hope for more toys from the movie but alas, they moved on. We instead ended up with Angry Birds/Star Wars Halloween bucket. She was sad for two seconds but not she's just saying "trick or treat" all the time and making us put pretend candy in the bucket.

Later we spent a lot of time in the play room waiting for The Hubs to come home from his class. When he got home it was a quick rest for him then time to go back to the east side for sushi dinner with my in-laws.

Sunday was church day and in my class we learned that God made our hands! I'm trying to make my class more interesting so with the help of the church secretary (OK actually she did most of the work by gathering everything) the kids played with black beans, a seashell, cotton balls, rubber bands, a rock, and traced their hands and decorated it with stickers. Gibbie loves church but about 10-15 minutes before it ends she starts asking to go home. She actually started yelling, "amen" once in the middle of prayers hoping that Pastor would get the hint or something. It was one of those delightfully embarrassing moments.

After church we all napped then once again went to the in-laws for a cookout with everyone. It was great. Now, I'm ready for a great week and trying to not be nervous about my first Pampered Chef booth at a Fall Festival this weekend. Have a blessed week everyone!

Weekend Review: The Color Run

Well I had a busy and fulfilling weekend. I had a Sunday School teacher training on Saturday morning and yesterday I had more fun that I've ever had sober (ok that's a huge exaggeration but it was freaking awesome). I'm turning today's post into a Color Run post. Enjoy!

As you can tell I like my own face! I didn't realize I had taken so many selfies until I started to write this post. Good lord I'm self absorbed!

That was seriously intense. I couldn't see anything around me and I could barely breath. Also, I've been blowing blue boogers out my nose. I'd still do it over though!

Let me tell ya, Gibbie did not like the paint on my face. She came to me but then asked what was wrong with my face and went straight back to her papa.

I would highly recommend The Color Run to you as long as you don't suffer from asthma or any other respiratory disease. Also, have some one check you over after your shower to make sure you got it all off. The Hubs noticed a big blue spot on my arm this morning!

Next up is Run or Dye and my goal is to be able to run that entire race. In February there is a half-marathon and I'm really considering training for it. Do you run? Have you done any really awesome races?

Weekend Review - Birthday Weekend

Well I'm an exhausted mama. Gibbie turned three on Saturday and we had a super kick ass Hello Kitty party for her. She cashed in on some awesome gifts and it was a lot of fun having the entire family at our house for a change (they all live in the same area and we live about half an hour away).

We started the birthday out with a manicure (which is insane because I think I was 15 when I had my first manicure).

Seriously though, Hello Kitty nails! How could I resist!!??

After the manicure we went to pick up the cake and cupcakes. Lou's Guiltless Goodies is amazing!

Check out this awesome spread. Yes, Gibbie is spoiled, at least on her birthday.

Singing Happy Birthday to Gibbie. She got bashful when she realized everyone was singing to her.

She ended up with a lot of awesome clothes, a Leap Pad 2, a Vtech phone, a lot of art stuff, books, and a scooter!

Check out the super adorbs Princes Merida dress. She wore it all evening.

The next day we took a very relaxing afternoon trip up to Mesilla, NM. We love that city and it's so close we go about once a month.

It's all fun and games until she thinks hitting mama on the head is fun!

It was a great weekend and since The Hubs has today off we're just going to relax around the house and maybe work on some art!

Weekend Review

Exciting stuff! Well, maybe not to you young people who don't have kids. For me, going to a movie is super exciting!

OK, OK, I'll start on Friday instead of skipping ahead to the fun parts.

The Hubs is having a lot of fun teaching his class in our backyard. The Gibbie kinda hates not being allowed to go outside with her papa but I'm trying to distract her as much as possible.

We entertained ourselves with bath time, Brave, and games on an old iPhone that is no longer a phone:

By the way, that phone is going to disappear sometime this week. I freaking hate how addicted she has become to it.

Then, after the student left we let her play with a wooden sword on the mats:

I said she could train as soon as she was taller than the sword. Not quite there yet:

Allow me to interrupt these adorbs pictures to let you know how freaking awesome my Saturday afternoon was. I got all gorgeous while Gibbie slept and The Hubs rested and we headed out. Gibbie went to grandma and grandpa's house to play with all the cool stuff they brought her back from their Alaskan cruise and The Hubs and I went to the movies.

THE WORLD'S END!!! So freaking good! A little background here as to why I was so giddy about this movie: This was the last installment of the so called Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy (aka Ice Cream Trilogy, Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy, or Cornetto Trilogy). The Hubs and I saw the first one, Shaun of the Dead, on our very first date. We'd known each other for a few years but because he moved up to Chicago just after I met him that first date took a while to work out. During the time the second movies came out we were on a break though I think we might have seen it on one of our secret dates (no one knew we were contemplating couplehood again). Now, the last one is here! We're married, we have a beautiful goblin princess daughter, and life is awesome.

Also, I can't even remember the last time we saw a movie in a theater. Afterwards, it was very hard to not stop off for a pint somewhere but since we were on the other side of town (they only have sports bars over there, ugh) and we needed to get our kid we decided against it. Go see it, you must, it's freaking amazing. I don't want to give too much away but it was an interesting change to see Simon Pegg's character as the one mucking things up and Nick Frost's character being the successful grown up. The ending is not what I was expecting considering how the other two ended but it was good nonetheless.

Back to the weekend...

Gibbie has decided she loves Spider Man and found this mask at Target:

We didn't buy it but she had fun wearing it for two minutes.

We actually have no idea where she even saw Spider Man or why she loves it but we're going with it. Maybe she'll be Spider Man for Halloween! That would be so cool.

We also went to Lowe's where we ordered new flooring and I'm super giddy to get rid of the nasty toddler stained carpet soon. I just wish we could get it done before Gibbie's birthday party next weekend. It's a bit embarrassing how nasty it is. I'll definitely have to post some before and after pictures of it once the furniture is out and before we put it back.

Weekend Review

It wasn't a very exciting weekend but it was fun just being with each other. The Hubs was a bit sick and stressed so it was a mixture of laying around and going out to eat with a Target trip and Lowe's trip mixed in.

I'm a total ditz and showed up to my church super early for the Sunday school teacher meeting but it as pretty nice just sitting under the pagoda looking at this view.

After the meeting I came home. Once I got Gibbie down The Hubs and I decided we wanted Wienerschnitzel. Being the loving mom I am I decided to get Gibbie a kid's meal for later. They were out of toys. This was the replacement. It would have melted so I ate it. Nope, not feeling guilty.

We played a lot in her messy play room. How did she get so tall!?

She's got more style than me, you, and your mama put together.

At Lowe's picking up a few things. This was actually the very first time she felt the joy of hanging on the front of the cart.

These two are my life.

They are the goofiest ever.

It's blurry but just look at the joy on her face.

Before church she was playing some games. We've created a monster by the way. She throws the hugest fits over that thing so we're seriously limiting it now.

After church they are playing church with Smurfs as the pastor and people! HA!

We ended our weekend at Rudy's.

She might look just like her papa but she acts just like her mama.
